Financing projects or purchasing property outside Denmark is often connected with the need for the investor to provide security for the financing. During the past few years, concurrently with the entry of the financial crisis, we have noted an increased demand for the possibility to take security over as-sets abroad, both from financial institutions and also from private persons or/and legal entities with a view to be able to offer up assets as security or collateral in different connections.
Over a period of years, we have built up a strong specialisation and experience within project development as well as purchase and sale of property abroad, which is why it has been natural for us to continue the work of securing these assets as a separate area of expertise.
At the moment, we are registering security interests on movable and immovable properties in the following countries, where we are able to provide an expertise out of the ordinary:
Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Slovenia, Bosnia, Romania, Germany, Sweden, Spain, France, Thai-land, Brazil, Latvia, Lithuania and the State of Florida in the United States.
Furthermore, we are currently gaining experience with other countries.
We also offer to our clients to go through encumbered properties in the particular countries in order to ascertain whether or not any act of perfection has been observed depending on the type of the asset involved.
It is obvious that the legal system differs from country to country. However, through a strong network of liaison lawyers, accountants and other cooperating partners abroad, we have created standard procedures for the benefit of our clients. Usually, neither the pledgor/mortgagor nor the financial institute (or the pledge/mortgagee) need to travel in order to register security interest on assets abroad.
